User-interface Integration
Case Examples
Planning, Creation, and Operation of Websites
Product/Entertainment Sites
Promotional Website for Otsuka Pharmaceutical's Oronamin C Drink.
We completely overhauled the website, making it easier to use and understand by simplifying the category structure.
Additionally, we planned a more pleasing website using the Oronamin C bottle as the motif so that visitors could find out more about the product while enjoying the contents.
Tokyo Art Index is a website by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Citizens, Culture and Sports that supports artists and offers information on Tokyo’s vibrant arts and culture scene. This website offers a directory service, search function, and submission service that allows artists to post text and images.
Note: As of the end of March 2007, support and management of this website was transferred from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, and the website was subsequently closed.
Website Operations Center
Using a dedicated CMS, we renewed the official site run by NIVEA-KAO and conducted site operations.
Linking up to the headquarters in Germany, we maintained the brand image of the global NIVEA website while creating new content.
Formulating an operation workflow and guidelines and organizing an operation team headed by the Web Director as the operation office, we were able to update the site more efficiently.
Development of business system interfaces
In the development of a portal site for a major job-transfer information company, which provides job-transfer information and performs matching, we mounted the following interface functions onto the administrator’s management screen, secured security, and improved operational efficiency and user-friendliness.
| Management item selection function | :This is a function that enables each administrator to customize the settings for the list items and the order of item display on the screen displaying the list of search results. With this function, we realized information-display and viewing on limited screen space adapted to the work requirements of each administrator. |
|---|---|
| Effective session-time extension function | :Since routine work often requires operators to stay on one screen for a relatively long period of time, we were requested to extend the effective session-time by screen. On the other hand, if the effective session-time is extended and an operator leaves the terminal with the page left open and untouched, it may endanger security. In order to solve this contradictory problem, we added a function that displays a countdown before the session is disconnected so that the operator can extend the time by clicking the screen while maintaining a short basic session-time. |
| Function to check character strings upon entry | :Generally, entered content is checked when a server runs the program after every item is filled. We developed a function that checks the content every time an administrator enters an item and promptly displays an error indication, if wrong. With this function, we achieved enhancement of the overall operational efficiency as it reduces the frequency of screen transition. |
Development of Rich Interface
We developed a promotion site for business carrying-bags, one of Sanwa Supply’s products.
With Indigo atom+ as a base, we developed a hands-on interactive site. High operational efficiency was achieved by developing a mechanism that facilitates updating of product data with high-renewal frequency by managing data via XML.
With Indigo CommerceFinder as a base, we developed a product comparison site.
We provided a novel user-experience by developing a site where the detailed functions and specifications of products in the four categories of laptops, desktop PCs, digital audio players, and DVD players (maximum 200 items per category) can be easily compared with intuitive operations (the promotion period has ended).
