1996

  • Established in February as a web service company that makes use of Internet technology, mainly by students (University of Tokyo, Waseda University, etc.) who were involved in the system direction of the Yahoo Japan launch project of Softbank Corporation.

  • Kyocera DDI Mirai Tsushin Kenkyusho (now KDDI R&D Laboratories) entrusted Kyocera with the development of elemental technologies related to recommendation engines, Java mobile agents, and XML (SVG). Since then, KDDI has also started its own research and development of XML-related technologies.

  • Data Stations Corporation, a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation, established to provide server hosting and ASP services to small and medium-sized businesses (45% stake).

2000

  • Bewith, Inc. was established as a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation and SoftBank Corporation to provide call center services (60% stake).

    iBuilders K.K. was established as a joint venture with SoftBank Corp. to conduct web development specializing in the planning of services utilizing websites (60% stake).

    Indigo acquired 60% shares of Onsale Japan K.K., a joint venture between SoftBank Corp. and Onsale Inc (US), the first-ever company to provide online auction services in Japan. As a top shareholder, we participated in the management of Onsale Japan K.K. and support them to develop their business such as changing the business domains (Onsale Japan K.K. later changed its name to GungHo Online Entertainment Inc. in 2002).

  • Company split into "Indigo Holdings Corporation," which provides management support to affiliated companies, and "Indigo Corporation," which focuses on system integration business. Business Development Division converted into ASP Division.

2003

  • Through an irregular management buyout (MBO) by the current management team, the company became independent as the new Indigo Corporation, with three business divisions (SI Division, CSP Division, and MSP Division). (The former Indigo Corporation was renamed Frontier Groove Corporation at the same time.)

2007

2008

  • "DocuDyne" Begins Strategic Collaboration with Microsoft Corporation. International SMS service was completely renewed to "WorldDyne" adopting a new payment platform.

    Expanded the international SMS service by adding value-added services such as international calling and international loading.

    Contributed to the standardization and popularization of SVG and SVG Map by being appointed as a member of public committees such as "SVG JIS Standardization Study Committee" and "PI Standardization Study Committee".

2009

  • SMART, the Philippines' leading cell phone operator, has become the official distributor in Japan of "Plug N' Talk," a USB device type IP cell phone that allows users to make calls directly to cell phones in the Philippines from their PCs. SMART, a mobile phone operator in the Philippines.

    Released "InfoDyne 3.1," a new version of InfoDyne that specializes in XML data synthesis engine and output functions.

2010

  • January: Released DocuDyne 4.0, adding an enterprise version September: Launched "SMS Inter-Connect Service," providing SaaS international SMS sending/receiving gateway for corporate customers.

    September: At the G-Spatial Expo, a prototype of a "MAP solution for indoor commercial space" ("Map MashUp Manager for Indoor") is unveiled, and a demonstration experiment "Indoor Twitter Map" is conducted to mash-up real-time indoor CGM information on an indoor map.
